Adult Classes

Retriever puppy and owner in class

Adult Classes – book monthly

Ideal for any dog over 6 months old, adult classes give you the opportunity to continue and improve your dog’s training. Even if you have an exemplary puppy, training can fade if it is not practiced and adolescence can have a disappointing effect on your initial efforts!

We will work towards strengthening existing cues (commands) so that they work in the real world and help our dogs respond to verbal cues alone, rather than still needing hand signals and/or luring. Lifelong learning strengthens your partnership and gives your dog some mental activity which is excellent for their overall health. Those who enjoy a bit of competition can work towards the IMDT ‘Partnership Grade’ certificates but these are entirely optional.

We’ll work on general obedience plus some fun and confidence building activities including:

  • Free Shaping
  • Body language
  • Improving Loose lead walking (heel)
  • Longer Sit-stays & Down-stays
  • Improving recall
  • Impulse control
  • Body handling
  • Jumps
  • Emergency stop
  • Sendaway
  • Tricks
  • The list goes on…!

Class dates:
Saturday mornings 10.30-11.30am on Box Playing Fields (outdoor)
Price: £15.00 per class, payable monthly in advance

Outdoor classes will go ahead in cool or showery weather so please dress yourself and your dog appropriately, including footwear.
